The HeartCode BLS (Basic Life Support) course by the American Heart Association (AHA) is an online, self-paced training program designed to teach healthcare providers and individuals how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course focuses on high-quality CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The course is divided into interactive modules, covering key topics such as:
Recognition of emergencies like cardiac arrest and stroke
Proper techniques for performing CPR on adults, children, and infants
Use of an AED
Relief of choking for all age groups
Understanding and identifying the chain of survival
Providing effective and timely interventions in an emergency situation
After completing the online portion, participants must pass a skills practice session with an AHA instructor to receive certification. (This is included in this course) The HeartCode BLS course is aimed at healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, emergency responders, and others involved in providing medical care in an emergency setting. It provides the knowledge and skills required to deliver immediate care in critical situations, ultimately increasing the chances of survival for victims of cardiac arrest and other emergencies.
Online Key will be emailed to you with instructions to log in and complete. The skills test will be schedule to accommodate your schedule, and location of test can be chosen by student.
